Dyson DC28 Animal Upright Vacuum and Accessories
Featuring Dyson's advanced cleaner head technology, this vacuum, designed for homes with pets, is engineered to pick up more dirt*. Its Airmuscle™ technology combines three cleaner head technologies to clean every type of floor. The fingertip controls automatically adjusts (or de-activates) the brush bar for different floor types. The Root Cyclone™ technology is patented technology that doesn't lose suction power. Its mini turbine head cleans pet hair and dirt from tight spaces. The Flat Out™ head has a super low profile for easier cleaning under low furniture. Vacuum also features a convenient quick-draw Telescope Reach™ wand. Measures 42.1" H x 13.5" W x 14.3" D. 5-year warranty. Model # 00199. *Dyson proves no loss of suction using the IEC 60312 CI2.9 test standard. Dyson makes performance claims based on the results of IEC 60312 CI 2.2, 2.3, 2.8, ASTM F2607, F608 and F558, and DTM 755 - an independently conducted Dyston test.
Although they claim to work on all floor types, most vacuums only work well on either bare floors or carpets. On bare floors, the machines tend to sit higher on the floor surface, allowing a suction leak. Some of our competitors use very heavy cleaner heads to make sure the brush bar is constantly driven deep into the carpet. DC28 is specifically designed to work on both bare floors and carpets. There are three components to the Airmuscle technology. The high torque clutch, a powered cam, and pneumatic actuator. The pneumatic actuator uses pressure from the vacuum motor to compress only when you select the medium pile and deep pile carpet settings.
That in turn puts the force onto the brush bar. That pulls the cleaner head down into the carpet. The brush bar is on a cam system. When you choose the deep pile carpet mode, the bristles protrude below the plates. What happens then is the bristles sweep deep within the carpet pile to get the ingrained dirt and debris that can be trapped there from everyday use.
